I was lucky in that I met my friends the first couple of days I moved to Japan and even after 2 years, I was one of the first to leave. But as the one leaving, I wondered about the expats who have lived abroad for so long that it's impossible to make a solid group. People keep leaving. What must it be like for the lifers to make new friends - knowing that they'll probably leave and who knows when? Good luck to your friend! And to you, too :) Great post, Danielle.
