As of yesterday evening, I have in my Dropbox folder a shiny new file which is the fully edited and proofed manuscript of As Long As She Lives. It’s done! The prose is tighter, the structure is pacier than the draft on Wattpad and it’s the best I can make it at this point in my development as a writer. I’m ready for As Long As She Lives to take its chance in the wider world while I take what I’ve learned writing it and apply it to the next novel. So I’m putting it into production. In fact, I’ve put it into production.

Narrative Eye 270sqNarrative Disorder, already my business name, is now registered as an Australian publisher and has a set of ISBNs to its name. I’ve engaged a cover designer with a solid track record of covers that look fantastic and help a book to sell (I’ll blog about it after we’ve navigated the process which will start in a couple of weeks). I’m finalizing my research into Print On Demand providers and interior formatting methods while working on front matter for the book and sales copy required for the various distribution channels. Oh yes, and I’m fleshing out the outline for the next novel which will be set between Melbourne and Thailand (starring Riley’s sister), working title: Karma Fish.

Now really is the time to subscribe to the As Long As She Lives mailing listย to be among the first to see the new cover, find out the launch date and where you will be able to buy an eBook or Print On Demand edition. If you’re a fellow Wattpadder make sure to fill in your Wattpad username for special offers (and maybe a competition) I’m working on as a thank you for all your support.

This is so exciting! Thank you all for accompanying me on this journey,

Darcy.
